A HABAL HABAL FAILED LOVE STORY

Here's a hard fact:
My parents never want me on a motorcycle.
Another hard fact:
There's me driving a motorbike in Siargao. 🙊
So here's my fair share of Siargao story--not really.
While I was driving my mom home from the office, after having been gone from an official business in Siargao, I had to admit to my parents that I drove a motorbike.. okay, fine..A scooter!
(coz I'm really a bad liar and I end up admitting no matter what)
Hoping that I get their validation for what I did despite knowing they dread the idea of me even just getting a motorcycle back ride I said:

Me: Ma, I drove a motorcycle in Siargao.
Mama: *with a grin* kahibaw na baya ka. (you already know..)
(shocks, I just placed my butt in trouble)  haha

Me: Daghan mangud kayko ug lakaw, resort to resort to push papers. Mas maka save if I drove a motor myself.  (I had so many errands to do resort to resort to push papers. I'd be able to save more if I drove a motor myself)
*and I added in segue*
Kaysa Maka uyab ko ug habal-habal driver sigeg sakay ug habal-habal. Musugot ka ma makauyab kog habal-habal driver? (..Rather than ending up with having a motorcycle driver boyfriend. Would you like it if I had a motorcycle driver for a boyfriend?)

My ever fierce mother in a light monotone:
"ikaw bahala. basta kay buutan" (It's up to you, as long as he's kind)

Okay. So, let's go back to square one:
My mom's future husband standard boils down to this-
-BAHALAG HABAL-HABAL DRIVER, BASTA KAY SWEET LOVER este.. BASTA KAY BUUTAN.

I guess, this is what happens when you're 24 and your mom know's way better. Some parents don't actually explicitly say what decisions we should take in life. They just give us hints that we either choose to process and follow.

and yes! I saved my self from another sermon of "The Dangers of Driving or Riding a Motorcycle."
