BE THE GIANT

“David answered, “You are coming against me in sword, spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord, Almighty, the God of Israelite armies[…]This very day the Lord will put you in my power ; I will defeat you and cut off your head.”
1 Samuel 17:45-46

We’ve all had our taste of being bullied. Sometimes, we tend to be really scared when we get faced up with the bullies. We get to teased, called names, told things that aren’t even true! And we seldom surrender and start to feel negatively about ourselves: We tremble, crumble, breakdown and declare our loss.
Sometimes bullies are the giants in our lives that we fight against. Sometimes, they overwhelm us in size. We think they have much more than we do because they are greater than us. Many years ago, history has it, that a young lanky, shepherd boy stood up against a ferocious giant and with a swing of his sling, BULL’S EYE! He shot the giant’s forehead! The giant lost consciousness then fell to the ground, this was the introduction of his defeat. Later, the once shepherd boy became the ruling king of the land.
In reality, the giants in our lives are the problems that we constantly face. They come in variation but quite often we lose the vision because they overwhelm us, we feel mocked and fear wraps around us, we get intimidated at their presence and lose focus, too.
That is why in times that we feel that we are weak because we are facing an enormous problem, think again! Re-track our minds to God’s promises of victory for us. Remember, if problems come to us even if we haven’t prayed for them, how much more with blessings, victories and prosperity that we often do. Recall the battles that you have won with God and the many times you have defeated the giants.
If life tries to bully us with an avalanche of problems, remember TO BE THE GIANT, Stare them down, in the name of the Lord, get through with you battles, give it your best fight and you will witness your victory without even raising a finger. Because with the Lord, you are greater than you think you are.

POWER LINES:
“The giants calling out my name and he laughs at me, reminding me of all the times, I’ve tried before and failed, and the waves they keep on telling me, time and time again, boy you’ll never win! You’ll never win.”

“But the voice of truth, tells me a different story, the voice of truth, says do not be afraid, yes the voice of truth, says “this is for my glory”, out of all the voices calling out to me, I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth.”
